![]() Overall, this album has phenomenal moments and really highlights the quality of the group and if it was trimmed down or more substance was added to the weaker tracks it could be one of the greatest records ever but it just falls short in my opinion. Furthermore, there are whole songs that do feel a little unnecessary and I do sometimes skip them when I listen to the record. This is mainly due to the interludes which are pretty much pointless and do disrupt the flow of the album. However, the record does feel a bit filler heavy with the 77 minute run time being really dragged out. This standard is also upheld on a few other tracks so there is always another reason to keep on listening. All of them are aggressive and possess phenomenal guitar work and vocal performances and they really demonstrate TOOL at its strongest. The songs that really stood out to me on the record was the title track, Forty Six & 2 and Stinkfist. ![]() This is a great album filled with fantastic moments that you can enjoy every time you revisit. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution.
